Enjoying the Garden

I don't know why some years I never get a garden it. The sense of accomplishment I get when I see my garden grow is great. I also like growing my own food. Since I have such a problem with chemicals it is very nice to know what is going in my food. My porphyria keeps me from feeling great so much of the time it is very nice to know that nothing has been added to my food. The biggest problem is getting myself out there to do some maintenance with my problems with the sun. I did put black plastic down to help combat the weeds. I would love to turn the whole field (or a large part of it) into a blueberry, other berry farm, however I know I would never been able to keep up with it, or find enough water with it.

I read today that a greater number of American's are growing some of their own food. I think this is partially due to the price of fresh vegetables in the store, and I think the first lady's push for gardens is good too. I am looking into a aerogarden for the winter just for lettuce. We seem to be eatting a lot of salads these days, so I could see how it would pay for itself quickly. They are readily available used on ebay just not sure about buying one on Ebay.

We will see
